What we do

EDF MAN Portugal was founded in 2002 as a product of the standardization of the designations of all the companies in the group, a group that has been present since the 1960s in Portugal.

Having started its activity as Zambeco – Company of the Zambezi Valley’s Agro-Livestock development with the importation of molasses from Angola and Mozambique to the agri-food industries of animal feed factories and for the production of yeasts.

In 1982 Zambeco finished its activity, between 1982 and 2002 its activity was continued by the company Schuurmans & Van Ginneken that in 2002 was to take the name of the group its holder, ED & F MAN.

ED & F MAN Portugal has its facilities in the port of Setúbal from where it delivers liquid food to the whole country. Logistics is provided by tanker trucks, both our own and our partner transport companies, all of which are exclusively dedicated to ED & F MAN, thus eliminating the risk of cross-contamination of products.

ED & F MAN started its activities in the agro-food industries and then extended its operations to other sectors, such as nuts, fertilizers and organic molasses.

The two key aspects that define us are customer proximity and technological innovation.
